Multi-day iron-air batteries for a reliable, renewable grid
Form Energy is developing iron-air battery systems capable of storing electricity for 100 hours at system costs competitive with traditional power plants. The company aims to enable a fully renewable, reliable, and affordable electric grid by providing multi-day energy storage.
Founded in 2017 by a team of battery industry veterans including Mateo Jaramillo (formerly Tesla), Form Energy emerged from the idea that long-duration storage would be critical for deep decarbonization. The company has raised over $850M from investors including ArcelorMittal, BlackRock, and TPG Rise Climate.
